| A Spacebloc is usually an alliance between a developed
country and multiple second or third world countries. The developed country
has spacetech or has the money to buy it. The developing countries have
overpopulation and thus a cheap labour market. Every country profits from
this symbiosis: the poor countries provide the labour and in return they
get access to space in order to reduce their population problem, the rich
countries need the cheap labour to reduce costs so spacetech can be put
into practice.
Usually a spacebloc is a pact between countries with the sole purpose to 1) make money and 2) reduce overpopulation. It is a benefit for the whole of humanity because our chance of survival becomes larger when space travel is firmly rooted in society. Spaceblocs are also a logical result of globalization, because when countries work together for a common goal, exchange between cultures takes place. The first spacebloc, the Asian Spacebloc, was formed in 2026. It was an alliance between Japan with China, Korea, Cambodja and Vietnam. Japan and China are developed countries and have spacetech and China, Cambodja and Vietnam have a population problem. In 2031 the Arabic Al Qahira Spacebloc was formed between Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Libia, Syria, Pakistan and Saoudi-Arabia. In 2035 the African Spacebloc was formed between South Africa, Kenia and Tanzania. Latin America is currently planning to join ISA and India is planning to buy spacetech to start its own space operations. Most Spaceblocs consider the ISA countries as the Western Spacebloc. |
