The presidential campaign of Democratic presidential candidate David
Anderson who some people call the Kennedy of the 21st century. His
campaign was supported by a large group of Mars
Society members, coming from different directions in science and
business. It was aimed to finally open the New Frontier. In 2020 Anderson
was elected President of the USA and in his term of office two manned
missions to Mars, a Mars base, a Lunar base and the Mars
Act were accomplished.
In the early 21st century the road was set for a manned mission to Mars.
This mission became a cooperation between the different space agencies
around the world and would be the main instigator for the foundation
of the International Space Agency [ISA] in 2030.
In the USA public interest in the coming mission was dropping in the
second decenium of the 21st century. The starting date of the mission
was then still at around 2030. In 2015 the Mars Society started a campaign
to increase public interest. Within the campaign one person drew most
of the attention, David Anderson, the head of public relations and figurehead
of the Mars Society. The Mars Society campaign gave David Anderson the
opportunity to step out in the open and announce his bid for the presidency
of the United States. His presidential campaign, better known as the
2019-2020 'Vote for Mars' campaign was supported by the Mars Society.
It advocated, besides the normal democratic issues of better public
health and security, to put a man on Mars within the next decade. In
2023 'The First' landed on Mars.
