| First Step Space Colonization [1st SSC] In this first step unmanned explorers are sent to all the parts of the solarsystem. The explorers will function as informationgatherers and provide the necesary intellectual basis for the next step. Also some manned missions take place, but they arent permanent colonizations. Second Step Space Colonization [2nd SSC] Here unmanned robotic devices [nanobots] are sent to specific places of the solarsystem, like the asteroid belt or planets. There they will mine for elements like iron, copper, gold, water, etc. From these elements they build human habitats in space. Third Step Space Colonization [3rd SSC] Humans leave Earth permanently and move to colonies on Mars or in the asteroid belt. Further in the future other colonies are established on Venus and on the moons of the outer gas giants. When humans have succeeded in making stable worlds, like the successfull terraforming of Mars, it is time to broaden the view. Fourth Step Space Colonization [4th SSC] Here the real final frontier comes in reach, leaving our solarsystem in selfsufficient livingcommunities. These communities are called SEED Spacecrafts. |

| 1st SSC was accomplished successfully in 2037 after more
than 80 years of space exploration. Important explorers where the Voyager
missions, the Apollo missions, the Viking missions, Mars Pathfinder and
the manned missions to Mars. 2nd SSC commenced in 2037 with the succesfull deployment of nanobots to the Asteroid Belt. 3rd SSC commenced in 2039 when Areopolis got permanently inhabited by humans. |

|
||
| Now in 2052 we have established a permanent colony on Mars. In the Asteroid Belt, Astropolis the largest city in the solar system has been constructed. No stable world however has been created and 4th SSC is still a long way ahead. | ||
