Born as David Fitzwilliam Anderson, in Boston, the 20th of April 1976. In 1995 he completed his study Political History cum laude. In 1999 he married Sandra DeWitt. They got two sons, Alexander and Charles, both senators at this moment. Nowadays he is seen as the Kennedy of the 21st century. There are even plans to name a new Mars city after him. David Anderson will especially be remembered for his addiction to Mars, although that wasn't what brought him to the White House. That, he owed to his wife. She was a member of the senate and also a Mars Society member. She talked him into it, making him realize he had a real chance. He came, he saw and won, just being himself all the time, that was the power of David Anderson. He called his campaign 'Vote for Mars' making a manned Mars mission his main objective. In a stable economic climate, a nation sometimes takes a gamble. It proved to be the right one. For the first and last time the Mars Society entered the White House,
which had a catalytic effect on the Mars programme. Under Anderson's
presidency humans made it to Mars. This succes made it very easy to
pass his Mars Act in 2023, a debatable plan of action concerning Mars
colonization and terraforming. In 2027 he took the Mars Act to the UN
[the Mars Treaty 2027], hoping to start a worldwide discussion what
to do with Mars. This was his last great undertaking as a President,
a year later his term of office ended.
After his presidency Anderson lived in retirement, occasionally appearing at seminars and Mars Society conventions. He also wrote a book about his presidency called "Bringing Mars to the White House". David Anderson died in his sleep at his home in New York 19 September 2047. He became 71 years old. Two years before, his wife died of old age. She became 78. |
